Organ Music for the Start of the Week: Melodious Break in St. Joseph
As the new week begins, the St. Joseph Parish Church in Memmingen opens its sound space for a special concert experience. On Monday, October 5, 2026, choir director Maximilian Pöllner will present the diverse sound colors of the Jann organ at 7:15 PM.
An Instrument with Characterful Sound Language
The Jann organ, built in 1980, is considered a prime example of organ building. Its sound spectrum ranges from powerful, room-filling registers to finely nuanced colors that unfold special depth in the church's acoustics. Maximilian Pöllner will lead a cross-section of organ literature through the different facets of the instrument.
Organ Music Between Precision and Emotion
The focus is on orchestration, registration, and the precise synchronization of rhythm, dynamics, and sound architecture. The interplay of conducting, stage performance, and sacred space creates a concentrated live atmosphere, where individual voices become as audible as large musical arcs.
Special Sound Moments in the St. Joseph Parish Church
On special occasions, additional instruments played by musicians from the region complement the sound image. The exact program will be announced on the church music Facebook page. Thus, the evening remains open for surprising musical encounters and individual accents.
Conclusion: Music that Transforms the Start of the Week
Visitors can expect an atmospheric evening with impressive organ music, lively acoustics, and an intense audience atmosphere in St. Joseph. Those who want to experience the start of the week consciously and musically will find a special opportunity to pause here. Admission is by voluntary donation for the organ projects in St. Joseph.
