Uschi Zietsch invites you to unexpected literary encounters
On October 29, 2026, Uschi Zietsch will guide you through the diverse world of her four-decade artistic creation at Kolbehaus in Memmingen. The literary reading combines narrative insights, personal anecdotes, and musical accompaniment for a varied cultural evening.
An author with extraordinary thematic breadth
Uschi Zietsch works as a writer, publisher, and editor. Her work ranges from fantasy and science fiction to children's and animal books, crime stories, and short prose. She is known for the Chronicles of Waldsee, contributions to Perry Rhodan, and her publishing work at Fabylon Verlag.
The reading makes this diversity immediately tangible. Different genres, narrative attitudes, and narrative perspectives relate to each other and showcase the literary versatility of an author who has shaped German-language fantasy since the 1980s.
Language, voice, and musical atmosphere
The focus is on the lively encounter with the author: Zietsch reads from various stages of her work and frames the texts with anecdotes from her long professional life. The musical accompaniment gives the evening a special reading atmosphere and creates space for switching between concentrated listening, personal remembrance, and narrative artistry.
The award-winning short story Aische
A special highlight will be the short story Aische. The text was awarded in a competition supported by Amnesty International and adds a socially relevant dimension to the evening. Alongside fantastic material, this shows an author whose literary interest also encompasses human rights and moral responsibility.
A literary evening for curious readers
The format is aimed at all those who already know Uschi Zietsch from her novels, follow her work as a publisher, or want to experience the author live for the first time. The combination of reading, overview of works, anecdotes, and music promises a versatile literary experience with personal closeness.
Conclusion: Experience literature in direct exchange
Those who want to discover the breadth of an experienced author not only in books but in voice and immediate encounter will find a special cultural evening at Unexpected Encounters. The reading at Kolbehaus offers the opportunity to experience literary quality, narrative diversity, and personal insights live.
