Memmingen Fair 2026: Autumn Market Atmosphere, Thrills, and Marketplace
From October 10 to 18, 2026, the Memmingen city center will be transformed into a lively amusement park. The Memmingen Fair combines riding fun, showman tradition, games, culinary offerings, and a varied marketplace into a shopping experience for young and old.
Rides between Tradition and Thrill
At Westertorplatz, Königsgraben, St. Joseph's Church Square, Kaisergraben, and Schweizerberg, around 80 showman businesses will create nine days of fair atmosphere. Spectacular attractions like TopSpin No 1 with water fountains, the family-friendly Parkour, and the running attraction Alpenrausch bring movement and excitement to the festival grounds.
Families can discover children's carousels, Dumbo flying elephants, duck fishing, mini-mobiles, and a safari trip. The Ferris wheel with 24 gondolas offers a wide view over Memmingen and the colorful hustle and bustle. Music Express, bumper cars, and the Bavarian fun carousel Hupferl complete the ride offerings. For brave visitors, the Ghost Cave opens with themed settings, new scare effects, and a special eerie atmosphere.
Marketplace with Regional Shopping Feeling
From October 13 to 15, the traditional marketplace invites visitors to browse daily from 9 AM to 8 PM. About 90 vendors will present household goods, ceramics, cleaning supplies, jewelry, leather goods, and other useful, beautiful, and curious items for everyday life. The market stalls are distributed across Hallhof, Maximilianstraße, Roßmarkt, and Weinmarkt.
Sweet Scents, Hearty Snacks, and Colorful Market Shades
Between carousels and sales stalls, the aroma of snack classics, crepes, gingerbread, and other sweets fills the air. Gingerbread hearts, roasted specialties, and colorful treats make the fair a special tasting experience even for little market-goers. Shooting galleries, games, and toss booths provide additional entertainment and small prizes.
Memmingen Tradition with a Long History
The fair is firmly established in the event calendar of the city of Memmingen. The city of Memmingen acts as the organizer, connecting the amusement park with the traditional marketplace. On Sunday, October 11, an open Sunday from 1 PM to 6 PM complements the city center stroll. For a relaxed journey, a park-and-ride service will be established on the same day.
Opening Hours and Visit Planning
The amusement park opens on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 AM to 10 PM, Mondays and Fridays from 12 PM to 10 PM, and Tuesdays to Thursdays from 9 AM to 10 PM. Entry to the festival grounds is free; rides, games, and food are paid for at their respective booths. Friday, October 16, is family day with reduced prices at participating rides and showman businesses.
The Memmingen Fair offers a lively market atmosphere, regional diversity, showman craftsmanship, and autumnal city center hustle. Those wanting to combine ride fun, marketplace, and culinary discoveries will experience a traditional Memmingen shopping experience in the open air.
