On Friday, October 23, 2026, the Allgäu Public Observatory Ottobeuren invites you to a public tour with sky observation. Starting at 7:30 PM, the discovery experience combines understandable astronomy with the special atmosphere of a clear autumn night. The event is aimed at those aged 8 and over and will take place in good weather.
Fascination of Astronomy Explained Clearly
An engaging lecture introduces current topics in astronomy and makes complex relationships about planets, stars, and galaxies accessible. The Allgäu Public Observatory aims to convey the processes in the sky clearly and make astronomical knowledge directly experienceable.
Exploring with the Telescope
With a clear sky, the observatory's telescopes focus on selected celestial objects. Practical observation, illustrative models, and expert explanations open up a new perspective on the universe. This creates a cultural and scientific enrichment for families, curious beginners, and experienced stargazers.
An Evening Between Nature Experience and Local Education Efforts
The tour in Ottobeuren combines nature experience, astronomical expertise, and shared wonder. In a tranquil environment, the vastness of the night sky becomes tangible, while the guide conveys historical developments in astronomy and current questions regarding sky observation. The event is expected to last about two hours.
